I've never used them to get a printed mini, but if that tickles your fancy, by all means knock yourself out. Some sites are primarily for creating custom minis for D&D, Warhammer and other miniature tabletop games. I've even attached screenshots of characters I created using the tools so you can get an idea of what they look like.īefore I start, a few disclaimers. Well, except for the last one it's the black sheep in the family. I tried several character creators so you don't have to.Īll these character creation sites are free (you're welcome). The thing is, there aren't really any character image creators specifically for fiction writers out there. Creating a character I can look at at any given time, saves my brain from straining to remember what it looked like (the same goes for trying to recall which features of I had to change to make my character more "realistic"). It's kind of like with the advice to write stuff down on a to-do list so that your poor brain doesn't have to struggle to remember all your life junk. I want to have my characters visualized, but try as I may, the sad, broken, spaghetti children I drew made me doubt my sanity more than anything else. If you're anything like me, visuals are just how you roll.
